Head of Product Safety
TFL is a globally operating company producing specialty chemicals for the leather industry and related industries. TFL offers its innovative products and solutions to tanneries, leather processing companies and coaters, always striving to introduce fresh ideas to the market. Our business activities comprise the development, production and marketing of specialty chemicals such as tanning agents, dyestuffs and finishing products, which enable our customers, mainly tanneries, to create an attractive end article such as leather automotive interior.
The Head of Product Safety will lead the Product Safety subgroup within the Product Compliance and Environmental Affairs group. This role is responsible for the preparation, review, and management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in accordance with global regulatory frameworks, including GHS and local adaptations such as EU CLP. The role operates in an international context, collaborating with colleagues across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The successful candidate will manage SAP EHS processes for product safety data. Furthermore, the candidate will ensure compliance with EU-REACH, and other international chemical regulations by aligning with the Regulatory group.
Do you have these skills and requirements?
- University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in product safety within the chemical or leather chemicals industry.
- Proven experience in preparing SDS according to GHS, CLP (EU and non-EU), and dangerous goods rules (ADR, IMDG, IATA).
- SAP EHS expertise is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of EU-REACH and international chemical legislation is advantageous.
- Experience working in an international environment with cross-border teams.
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory; Italian language skills are beneficial.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders worldwide.
Contract Offer and Working time: Full time, permanent contract
Place of work: Given the physical concentration of the Product Safety team members in Buscate, the general allocation of global funtions and accessability in terms of traveling, the order of priority for the location: Buscate (MI); Montebello (VI) > Italy (remote) > EU.
Smart working 3 days a week.
