R&D CONTROL LOGIC ENGINEER
Location: Cambiago (MI), Italy
As an R&D Control Logic Engineer, you will be part of the HHP (Heating Heat Pump) technology team and report to the HHP Control Logic Manager.
The objective of the role is to contribute to the development of electric heat pumps by defining and integrating thermodynamic software control logic for heating applications, ensuring consistency between control models, software, and real-world system behavior.
Main Responsibilities:
- Define and formalize system-level requirements for thermodynamic control in electric heat pumps.
- Design control logic for the thermodynamic circuit, ensuring alignment with system performance targets.
- Develop and maintain models in Matlab-Simulink and support integration with physical models based on Modelica.
- Collaborate with software and modeling teams to ensure proper implementation of model-based design principles.
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of experimental test campaigns (in the lab and in the field).
Requirements:
- Degree in Energy or Thermodynamics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of R&D experience, preferably in HVAC/Refrigeration or system and software requirement definition.
- Proficiency in Matlab-Simulink and Stateflow for control systems modeling.
- Familiarity with Modelica and tools like Dymola for physical system simulation.
- Ability to set up and interpret experimental validation tests.
- Strong analytical and planning skills.
- Fluent in English.
Offer:
Direct placement with a permanent contract. Salary and role commensurate with actual experience. Industry reference contract: Metalworking (CCNL Metalmeccanico).
